Amazon Unveils Global Selling Tools at Accelerate 2026: GWD to Reach Seven More Countries Including Canada by Year-End, One-Submission Compliance Testing, and a Unified Expansion View (September 24, 2026)
At Accelerate 2026, Amazon announced a set of tools meant to make selling in multiple countries easier, in a post by Sunny Jain, vice president of Worldwide Fulfillment by Amazon. The biggest logistics change is that Global Warehousing and Distribution (GWD), which today connects only to the US, will expand to the UK, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Canada by the end of the year. Once that happens, a seller can hold one production run near the factory and send it into FBA in whichever country demand shows up. Amazon also described a pilot where one compliance test submission covers several countries, starting with toys; a first version of a unified expansion view covering the US, Europe, and Japan; and new Seller Assistant agents for aged inventory and inbound planning.
Real-World Impact
Amazon says only 30% of its selling partners list in more than one country, and that sellers active in more than one country earn 70% more revenue on average. It also says early sellers in the one-submission testing pilot report savings of up to 60% on compliance costs.
Key Points
- GWD connects to the US today and will expand to the UK, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Canada by the end of the year, according to Amazon
- Amazon says GWD storage costs will be up to 45% lower than AWD in the US, and replenishment into FBA up to five days faster. Both figures are ceilings, not published rates
- One-submission compliance testing starts with toys, with electronics and baby products to follow by the end of the year and more categories in 2027. Amazon says early pilot sellers report savings of up to 60% on compliance costs
- Amazon introduced the first version of a unified view for expanding into new countries this fall, covering the US, Europe, and Japan, with more countries to be added by year-end
- End-to-end supply chain visibility with a single reconciled unit count is rolling out over the coming weeks
- Seller Assistant is adding supply chain capabilities, starting with agents for aged inventory and inbound planning. Amazon also notes AWD has expanded beyond the US into the EU, UK, and Australia
What You Should Do Now
- 1If you already use GWD for the US, watch the Amazon Warehousing and Distribution section of Seller Central for Canada and the other six countries becoming available as allocation destinations. Amazon has only committed to 'by the end of the year'
- 2If you sell toys, look into the one-submission compliance testing pilot before you order new country-specific tests. Electronics and baby products sellers should plan for it arriving by year-end
- 3Check your aged inventory and inbound plans against Seller Assistant's new supply chain agents as they roll out on your account
- 4Treat the 45% storage and five-day replenishment figures as upper limits, and price a real lane before moving stock out of US AWD
