Amazon Canada Discontinues FBA Prep and Labeling Services Effective July 1, 2026

Effective: July 1, 2026
All Amazon Canada (amazon.ca) sellers who currently rely on Amazon to apply FNSKU labels, polybagging, bundling, or other prep services at Canadian fulfillment centers

Amazon announced it will discontinue prep and item labeling services for FBA shipments in Canada effective July 1, 2026. All inventory sent to Canadian fulfillment centers after that date must arrive fully prepped and FNSKU-labeled by the seller or a third-party prep service. Shipments created before July 1 will still receive prep services even if they arrive after the deadline. The change mirrors the US discontinuation that took effect January 1, 2026.

Key Points

  • Amazon Canada will stop offering FBA prep and item labeling services (polybagging, FNSKU labeling, bundling) effective July 1, 2026
  • All products sent to Canadian FBA fulfillment centers must arrive fully prepped and labeled by the seller or a third-party prep provider
  • Shipments created before July 1 will still receive Amazon prep services, even if the inventory arrives after the deadline
  • Shipments created after July 1 that arrive without proper prep and labeling will be processed but will not qualify for damage reimbursement
  • Sellers can use third-party prep services, self-prep, or enroll eligible items in the Ships in Product Packaging (SIPP) program
  • The change also affects inventory sent via Amazon SEND and Supply Chain Portal to Canadian fulfillment centers

What You Should Do Now

  1. 1Audit your Canada FBA shipments to identify all ASINs where you currently use Amazon prep or labeling services
  2. 2Arrange to apply FNSKU labels and prep products yourself, or source a Canadian third-party prep center before July 1, 2026
  3. 3Review your inbound shipment workflows in Seller Central Canada to confirm your prep owner settings are updated to SELLER before the deadline
  4. 4If you use the SP-API Fulfillment Inbound API for Canada, update your integration to remove AMAZON as a valid value for prepOwner and labelOwner
  5. 5For eligible products, evaluate enrolling in Amazon's SIPP (Ships in Product Packaging) program to reduce packaging costs
