Amazon Reopens FBA to Meltable Inventory in Two Waves: Gummies, Protein Bars and Cookies From August 31, Chocolate From September 21, 2026
Effective: August 31, 2026
US FBA sellers of chocolate, gummies, protein bars, cookies, coated candy and other products on Amazon's meltable ASIN list who removed inventory for the April–September restriction period.
Amazon announced that sellers can resume sending meltable inventory to FBA starting August 31, 2026, reopening by product type rather than on a single date. Gummies (coated and pectin), protein bars, cookies and coated candy could be shipped in from August 31 and became available for customer orders on September 14; all chocolate, chocolate-coated nuts, fruit and caramel, plus gelatin gummies, could be shipped in from September 21 and became available for customer orders on October 5. This replaces the earlier seasonal notice, which said Amazon would not accept meltable inventory at fulfillment centers from April 20 through September 28, 2026.
Key Points
- Group 1 — gummies (coated and pectin), protein bars, cookies and coated candy: ship-in from August 31, 2026; available for customer orders from September 14, 2026
- Group 2 — all chocolate, chocolate-coated nuts, fruit and caramel, and gelatin gummies: ship-in from September 21, 2026; available for customer orders from October 5, 2026
- Shipments containing meltable inventory can be created through the Send to Amazon workflow starting August 31, 2026
- Amazon defines meltable inventory as heat-sensitive products that can melt when exposed to 155°F (68°C) for extended periods, such as chocolate, gummies and some jelly- and wax-based products
- The staggered schedule supersedes the spring notice, which said meltable inventory would not be accepted from April 20 through September 28, 2026
- The full policy and a downloadable list of meltable ASINs are on the Meltable FBA inventory help page
What You Should Do Now
- 1Download the meltable ASIN list from the Meltable FBA inventory help page and confirm which group each of your ASINs falls into
- 2If any meltable ASINs are still out of stock, create Send to Amazon shipments now — both ship-in windows are already open
- 3If Send to Amazon still shows a meltable error for an ASIN whose ship-in date has passed, open a case with Selling Partner Support
- 4Plan next spring's removals around the April meltable restriction so you are not hit with unfulfillable or disposal fees
