Amazon Ads Moves a Contacted Group of Advertisers Off Credit Card Billing to Account Balance Deduction on August 1, 2026

Amazon Ads updated how a specific group of advertisers pays for Sponsored Ads. As of August 1, 2026, advertisers in that group have their advertising costs deducted from their seller or vendor account balance by default instead of being charged to a credit or debit card. Amazon states the change applies only to the small group of advertisers it contacted directly by email and through their ads console. Affected advertisers could select Pay by Invoice instead; anyone who made no selection was moved to account balance deduction, with their existing card retained as a backup so ads keep running if the balance is short. Amazon originally scheduled this for April 15, 2026 and deferred it to August 1 to give the group more time to prepare.

Amazon Overhauls Date Range Transaction and Summary Reports

Amazon updated its Date Range Transaction and Summary reports to organize data by when transactions are posted to a seller's account, rather than when they are released for payout. Two new columns β€” Transaction Status and Transaction Release Date β€” were added. The change was applied retroactively to January 1, 2025, meaning previously downloaded reports no longer match older exports. Sellers who filed 2025 taxes or run bookkeeping against historical report data will need to re-download and reconcile.
